Tuna Pie

 

INGREDIENT
1 tin canned tuna in oil
1 big onion
4 cloves garlic
1chilli pepper (hot chilli)
juice of 1 lime
salt to taste
pepper powder 1/2 tsp
2 tomatoes
Ingredients for the dough:
1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt 1 tsp baking powder
1 egg
2 tbl spoon margarine
 
METHOD

To make the dough, sieve the flour and add baking powder, margarine salt and the egg. Mix well add a little water and make a soft dough and keep it covered for 1/2 hour.
In the meanwhile prepare the stuffing, slice the onion, garlic, tomato and the chilli.
Mix the salt pepper powder and the lime juice. Mix it nicely with your hands, next open the tuna can and pour the oil into a pan and heat the oil and fry the onion mixture. When the onions turn pink add the flaked tuna and mix well. season it with salt and pepper and switch off the cooker.
 
Make 2 equal balls out of the dough and roll it into circles of 6 inches diameter. Spread one part in the tray and put the filling and cover it with the other part of the dough. Apply egg white on the rim of the dough and press the sides with a fork. Lastly apply some egg white on the pie and bake in a hot oven for 20mins.
